3-23-2017 -- In this post, I will be sharing a "goat" art idea. This was an art project that Lauren did in Brightly Beaming Resources' (Step 3: Sound of the Week) home school curriculum for the "oa" sound as in "goat". Lauren made this simple goat art by tracing shapes such as triangles, circles, an oval, and squares to create the goat, next she draws all kinds of design patterns on some parts of the body then traces and colors them with coloring markers and crayons.

READY FOR KID BEFORE STARTING ACTIVITY ALONG WITH OTHER MATERIALS:
=================================================================
* Cut different shape patterns to trace and create the goat
=================================================================
DONE BY ADULT OR PARENT:
=================================================================
Background Paper: Glue together 2 construction papers in one end to create a large paper where your kid will trace the shapes to create their goat.
Goat Face, Horns, Nose, Ears, Beard, Legs, Tail: Create different sizes of triangle patterns for these pieces
Goat Neck: Create a rectangle shape pattern.
Goat Body: Create an oval shape pattern.
Goat Spots: Create different sizes of circle patterns.
Goat Hooves: Create square shape patterns.
=================================================================
DONE BY CHILD:
=================================================================
* Trace shape patterns on paper
* Trace goat drawing
* Draw details on background
* Draw patterns on goat
* Color the goat
=================================================================
STEPS IN DOING THIS GOAT ART:
=================================================================
1. Let child trace the different shape patterns on paper to create the whole goat. Next, let child draw some patterns on any part of the body. Your kid can alternately draw patterns on a body part. For example they can leave the horns blank and draw patterns on the face, etc. After drawing the patterns, let the child trace the details of the goat using a black coloring marker.
2. After tracing the goat details, let child trace the patterns drawn on goat body with any color of coloring markers of their choice, they can alternately color the patterns and use or blend together any coloring medium they have or want.
3. Finally, let the child create the background of their goat, your kid can create any pattern or backgrounds of their choice aside from what is shown in our smaple. They can draw a vertical line or horizontal lines etc. and then color it the way they want.
4. And there you go, the "shape & patterns goat art" is DONE. Create your own easy and colorful "goat art" using different kinds of shapes.
