Zombie Toss: Create A Plants VS Zombies Inspired Halloween Game + Links to FREE Printables!

This year, for some fun this Halloween season, I made this game that me and Lauren played inspired and involving characters from the popular tower defense game "Plants VS Zombies". I call this game "zombie toss", I use a small empty cardboard box to create a zombie head that will be used to toss onto the plant characters. I used small disposable cups as stand of the plant characters. The cups hold prizes inside them that anyone can get from knocking down any of the plant characters. Indian Dolls

10-8-2015 -- In this post, I will be sharing an "indian" craft idea and how I did and taught it to my child. This was an art project that Lauren did in Brightly Beaming Resources' (Step 2: Letter of the Week) home school curriculum for the short "i" sound as in "indian", Lauren is going to make an "indian or native american" doll (as you can see the picture of the finished dolls she has done below). I call this project "Indian Doll" craft. They are an indian boy and girl created using paper cup and styrofoam balls.

This is a fun craft for kids to make that involves painting, gluing and decorating. Every kid is different so when choosing to do or follow a craft, it is best to adapt the project to your kid's situation or abilities also making sure that it helps them learn and that the process is done best that benefits them.

* Indian Teepee: If you want, you could let your child create a teepee along with the indian doll. You can take the template from this "Paper Teepee" craft at firstpalette.com. They have 3 kinds of teepee templates: plain teepee (blank, that your child can personally create and color their own designs into), teepee coloring page (black & white designs, that your child can color), and colored teepee (with colored designs, ready to cut and assemble). Choose the type of teepee template you want for your child.

* Indian Body: Take a paper cup and cut the bottom part using handheld cutter. This will allow the foam ball head to sit into the hole.

STEPS IN MAKING THIS NATIVE AMERICAN CRAFT:
=================================================================

1. Let child paint foam ball and cup with brown poster color. Set painted pieces aside to dry.

2. Once painted pieces are dry, let child glue foam ball on paper cup using hot glue. Put hot glue around hole on bottom of cup and let child glue ball on it.

3. Next, let child glue eyes, nose, and mouth on foam ball.

4. Next, cut strands of black yarn, add and spread glue on the spot using paint brush. Let child glue yarns on it to create hair of doll.  Let glued yarns totally dry. Depending on what kind of doll your child is making (boy or girl), cut extended yarn strands short or make a braid from it.

5. Next, let child draw zigzag details on head band strip using crayons or oil pastel colors. Then, let child glue head band around foam ball head.

6. Next, let child glue paper feathers at the back side of foam ball head.

7. Next, let child draw zigzag details on collar and belt patterns.

8. Next, let child glue collar then clothes on paper cup body and belt around clothes.

9. Next, let child glue sleeves to the side of paper cup body using hot glue. Put hot glue on the spot and let child glue sleeves on it.

10. Finally, it's time to add a necklace accessory, you may use cross stitch thread or any thin string and some small accessory that you have around. Let child attach necklace on indian doll by taping it towards the back. And there you go, the "Indian Doll" is DONE.
