Leaf Prints

11-5-2015 -- This was an art project that Lauren did in Brightly Beaming Resources' (Step 2: Letter of the Week) home school curriculum for the "l" sound as in "leaf", she is going to make art using "leaves".

I did a search for some leaf crafts and found this "Leaf Prints Tree" craft from firstpalette.com. I think it's a fun and creative thing for kids to do with leaves aside from leaf rubbing. First Palette have 6 kinds of trunk templates to use in creating a tree, we use the trunk template with roots. If you wish to create a large tree, you may use these templates. Lauren painted the template with brown poster color.

Lauren painted a medium sized leaf using green & yellow green poster colors to print onto the branches of the trunk and all around to make the whole tree. It's also a great idea to allow kids to use any color of choice to paint the leaves and create their own kind of tree or they can use one large leaf as a whole tree and just draw and paint a little trunk below the leaf.

Your child can also try printing a row or group of large leaves in one paper then paint the trunks below it to create a series of small trees or forest of trees. Leaf printing is definitely a nice, easy and fun craft for kids to do. Definitely a great art activity and idea to do with leaves.

If you're looking for a leaf art activity you can do with your kids, you should try this "Leaf Prints Tree" craft from firstpalette.com!
