Animal Craft: Plastic Egg Carton Craft | Home Learning Art & Craft Project Activity

In this post, I will be showing how to make use of a plastic egg container to create a "frog" craft. This was a craft project that Lauren did in Brightly Beaming Resources' (Step 3: Sound of the Week) homeschool curriculum for the "fr" sound as in "frog", Click Here To Find Out Why We Are Doing HomeschoolingI thought about doing our frog out of an empty egg container sitting on a lotus pad made out of styro plate.

STEP #1: First, let child paint egg cartons (frog head & body), eye circles, and feet with any color of their choice. There are different kinds of frogs and they come in different colors and appearance, Click Here For Various Frog Images for color ideas. Let child paint their frog with any color aside from what is shown, set aside painted pieces to dry.

STEP #2: Next, let child paint lotus pad with green acrylic paint and the egg cartons (lotus flowers) with any color of their choice, Click Here For Lotus Flowers Images for color ideas. Set aside painted pieces to dry.

STEP #3: Once all the painted pieces are dry, let child glue googly eyes on eye circles using hot glue. Put hot glue on the spot and let child glue googly eyes on it, you can try various googly eyes colors or design for fun looking eyes, Click Here To Check Out Various Fun Colored Googly Eyes. Next, let child glue eye circles on the egg carton head and the head on egg carton body using hot glue (with supervision).

STEP #4: Next, let child draw a mouth below eyes using black permanent marker, then glue some paper dots all over frog face and body for additional details.

STEP #5: Finally, let child glue feet below frog body and the whole frog onto lotus pad using hot glue (with supervision).
