Hand Print Art: Hand Print People | Home Learning Art & Craft Project Activity

In this post, I will be sharing a "hand print" craft. This was a craft project that Lauren did in Brightly Beaming Resources' (Step 3: Sound of the Week) homeschool curriculum for the "nt" sound as in "print"Click Here To Find Out Why We Are Doing Homeschooling. I thought about doing something out of hand prints and came up with this fun craft made by tracing different forms of hand prints to create all sorts people out of them.

READY FOR KID BEFORE STARTING ACTIVITY ALONG WITH OTHER MATERIALS

* cut hand print pattern

* cut clothes pattern

DONE BY ADULT OR PARENT

PAPER BACKGROUND: Cut a 1 whole cartolina paper  into a size that is enough to fit in the number of hand print people your child will glue inside it.

HAND PRINT PATTERNS: Trace or draw any form of your child's hand on a white heavy weight paper. We used 5 different types of hand forms for this project (as you can see in the photo below)

CLOTHES: Draw patterns using simple shapes (such as rectagle, circles, triangle, etc.) of the clothes for each people on different colors of construction papers in any color of choice, you may create any type of clothing aside from what is shown.

DONE BY CHILD

* create background on paper

* cut hand print and clothes patterns.

* glue hand print people on paper

* draw details on hand print people

* decorate hand print people

STEPS IN DOING THIS HAND PRINT PEOPLE CRAFT

STEP #1: First, let child create a background of their choice on the cartolina. Let child color background drawing with crayons.

STEP #2: Next, let child alternately draw designs of their choice on the clothes patterns (eg. draw designs on sleeves or skirt and leave other part of clothes plain.) Let child trace and color drawings with coloring markers then color it with crayons.

STEP #3: Next, let child draw details on hand print pattern such as hair, a face with eyes, nose, and mouth. Let child trace drawing with coloring markers then color it with crayons.

STEP #4: Next, let child glue and create hair accessories on girl hand prints using yarns, gem stickers or some shape sequins such as flowers, stars, hearts, etc.

STEP #5: Next, let child glue hand print heads on cartolina background, add clothes, craft stick arms and some other extra details (such a sequin earring, necklace, etc.) to complete whole look of their hand print people.
