Zombie Toss: Create A Plants VS Zombies Inspired Halloween Game + Links to FREE Printables!

This year, for some fun this Halloween season, I made this game that me and Lauren played inspired and involving characters from the popular tower defense game "Plants VS Zombies". I call this game "zombie toss", I use a small empty cardboard box to create a zombie head that will be used to toss onto the plant characters. I used small disposable cups as stand of the plant characters. The cups hold prizes inside them that anyone can get from knocking down any of the plant characters. Homeschooling Experience: Letter of the Week + Link To FREE Homeschooling Resource

We tried this FREE Easy To Follow Homeschool Curriculum: Brightly Beaming Resource's Early Childhood Resources For The Home, we already did (Step 1: Preparatory Curriculum) and we also explore and tried (Step 2: Letter of the Week). Step 2 of this curriculum is basically about learning the sounds of each letter of the alphabet or basic phonics. These steps starting from Step 1 until Step 4 are "Brightly Beaming's Steps to Reading Program".

WHAT YOUR CHILD CAN LEARN IN STEP 2: LETTER OF THE WEEK

Aside from teaching your child or children at home the sounds of the letter of each alphabet, there are also other areas tackled and suggested in Step 2: Letter of the Week such as music, arts, math, science, social studiesphysical activities, and more! The topics featured and chosen in each subjects or activities are based on the featured sound of the letters of the week.

My daughter Lauren already knows all the sounds of each letters of the alphabet and this is just to establish what she already knows that will help her to eventually be able to read words altogether. After Lauren's success with Step 1, of course reading is another skill we all want our kids to acquire, so I go ahead and continue to work on this step with her as well.

THE GREAT THING ABOUT THIS STEP IN THIS HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUM

The bonus part is the additional learning and exposure to music, arts and creativity with various art projects and other stuff in this step which is great. I basically adapt the style of teaching and learning here based on my child's individual situation and needs, so when you decide to try and work on this curriculum or program with your own child at home, alter and adapt it to their own needs.

You can a take a look at the curriculum pattern and information about this Step here. This step lasts for 38 weeks.
