Creating A Simple But Festive Christmas Inspired Hot Chocolate

We made this easy Christmas hot chocolate using hot cocoa mix "Swiss Miss", this is part of our "Countdown To Christmas 2025" activity with my daughter who has special needs (Autism). Anyone can get cozy and festive this Christmas season with this simple and fun Christmas hot chocolate drink.

You can make Christmas hot chocolate from scratch with milk, chocolate chips but if the ingredients cost a bit much for you, you can still go ahead and experience some Christmas inspired hot chocolate using hot cocoa mix just add some Christmas inspired toppings to make it festive and into the Christmas season.

GET CREATIVE WITH YOUR OWN EASY CHRISTMAS HOT CHOCOLATE 

You can also do this with any kind of chocolate drink such as: GOYA Everyday Instant Powdered Chocolate Drink, MILO, OVALTINE or any other hot cocoa or chocolate milk drink in the market (whichever you like) and just top it with marshmallows, chocolate cookie sandwich, Christmas sprinkles, etc.

We topped our hot cocoa with marshmallows, we used these large chocolate and white marshmallows, we just cut the large mallows into quarters with scissors to make them smaller. You can also try pastel colored mallows in green and combine them with white and chocolate mallows.

Aside from marshmallows, we also topped our hot chocolate with mini oreo cookies, Lauren chose crushed oreo cookies and I topped mine with the whole mini oreo cookies. You can also use other type of cookies or mini cookies such as: ginger cookies, chocolate chips, honey oat, etc. that you can find in the market.

CREATING YOUR SIMPLE BUT FESTIVE HOT CHOCOLATE DRINK

Empty contents of your chocolate drink mix into a mug, you can use Christmas mugs, Christmas colored mugs or just your regular ordinary mug if you don't have other mugs. Add hot water, if you have pepperment candies you can crush them and stir it together with the hot chocolate, then topped with marshmallows, some mini cookies (crushed or whole) whichever you prefer, Christmas sprinkles and any other additional toppings of your choice such as chocolate pretzel sticks, cinnamon, or crushed candy canes (if you have it).

Add a red or green striped paper straw for a more festive look and easy sip of your hot cocoa. We only have these red plastic straws and I cut some thin strips of white paper and wrap it in spiral around our red straw then wrapped the whole straw with scotch tape.
