Zombie Toss: Create A Plants VS Zombies Inspired Halloween Game + Links to FREE Printables!

This year, for some fun this Halloween season, I made this game that me and Lauren played inspired and involving characters from the popular tower defense game "Plants VS Zombies". I call this game "zombie toss", I use a small empty cardboard box to create a zombie head that will be used to toss onto the plant characters. I used small disposable cups as stand of the plant characters. The cups hold prizes inside them that anyone can get from knocking down any of the plant characters. Empty Noodle Cup Halloween Treat Holder: Easily Create Yours With Links To FREE Resources!

Halloween is coming, in this post I will be sharing another Halloween treat holder idea by recycling some small empty noodle cups. After eating some instant noodle soup especially if it comes in this plastic noodle cup, wash and keep these containers to recycle it later for some DIY such as this fun and creative Halloween treat holder for the kids.

ABOUT THIS HALLOWEEN HOLDER

I made these holders for my 2 nieces, I have kept some of these empty 40 gram sized noodle cups. We all know these cups can be recycled in so many ways, so I thought about making some treat holders using these cups. If your noodle cup comes with this cardboard type label, take off the label before washing. You may keep one of these carboard labels as this can be used as a tracing guide pattern for making cup wrappers for the cups using pattern papers in future DIYs.

I made these treat holders above mostly hand made, but in this post I will be sharing ways and resources how you can make yours fast and easy. These holders are best to make for kids within your family just to give out for fun on Halloween.

COVERING THE BOWLS + FREE PRINTABLE PATTERN PAPERS & PUMPKIN LABELS

To create the cup body cover for the treat holder, simply take off the noodle label and trace it on a pattern or wrapping paper, the pattern or wrapping paper doesn't necessarily need to be in a Halloween related print, even one in ordinary patterns such as stripes, dots, etc. as long they are in Halloween colors will do.

If you can't find any pattern papers near you, check out these FREE printable Halloween digital papers by clicking on the links below, they are perfect for use in this DIY, I am actually using one from the "Spiderwebs Digital Paper Pack" as a sample cup body cover for this tutorial.

They work well with the size of the small recycled noodle cups in this DIY. Click Here To Check Out The Printable Pumpkin Labels. HOW TO EASILY CREATE YOUR EMPTY NOODLE CUP TREAT HOLDER

1. Prepare the empty noodle cups (small size), print the pumpkin labels and any chosen character templates by clicking on the links shared above. Cut the pumpkin labels as well as the character parts and pieces. Construct the character by gluing all the parts and pieces together to complete it. Set aside.

2. Glue a craft stick or any stick that would be suitable such as dowel rod stick, etc. to the back of the character using hot melt glue. Set aside.

3. Next, trace the noodle cup label on a pattern paper to create the treat holder cup body cover, cut then attach to the cup using hot melt glue. After covering the cup body, attach the stick with the character into the cup using hot melt glue then glue the pumpkin label to the front of the cup using dry glue stick.

4. Next, take a small clear plastic cellophane bag, I used a small sandwich resealable bag for this sample tutorial and just cut off the top area with the seal. Add some sweet treats into the bag and tie around with a string or ribbon in any Halloween related color. Put the bag inside the cup and you're DONE.

Below is a sample "dracula" Halloween treat holder using the printables. Create your own fun Halloween treat holders by recycling some empty noodle bowls. I'm sure the kids will be delighted to receive such colorful Halloween treats made especially for them.

GET A LOW-COST AND QUALITY PRINTER FOR HOME PRINTING

I'm using "HP Ink Tank 115" single function inkjet printer in printing the sample printables in this DIY, I bought it online at shopee.ph. It is a quality and low-cost printer for home printing that uses tank for the ink. It needs a total of 4 ink bottles (CMYK) to refill the tank, you can save even more by refilling with universal ink. Just make sure the ink is compatible with the printer model before deciding on a purchase.
