Thumper Rabbit Inspired Easter Treat Bags | Spring Easter DIY

Easter is just around the corner. I was at a school supply store recently and saw this "Bambi" story book, on the cover was Bambi the deer and his friend Thumper the rabbit. I remember this cute adorable rabbit character when I was a kid watching this animated movie. That gave me the inspiration and idea to do a "Thumper" theme Easter treat bag for the kids.

I made these treat bags as Easter treats for Lauren and my 2 nieces. I made mine mostly hand made but here I will share ways to create your own quickly and easily. I use dark gray and light gray folders in making my treat bags, since I can't find any gray heavy weight paper in any stores near me, it's great that they worked out for this DIY.  I made 4 rabbit treat bags for Lauren and my nieces. This is good to make for kids within your family.

CREATING THE TREAT BAGS + LINK TO FREE PRINTABLE!

For the treat bag, I use a blank printable gift bag template, Click Here To Check Out Free Printable Gift Bag & Box Templates. I used bag #1, these are small treat bags that is good for storing small treats such as chocolates, candies and other small non candy things.

Check Out "Thumper Rabbit" Merchandise @ disneystore.com

If you choose to store non candy things, you can store about 2 to 3 small things in this bag, something like a key chain, small purse, sharpeners, hair clips and ties, small stickers, small stationery, etc. I had non-candy, Easter related small things and stuff (such as bunny hair clips, hair ties etc.) inside the bags that will be useful anytime after Easter, you can also put anything useful for the recipient of the bags in the colors of Easter.

HOW TO CREATE RABBIT TREAT BAG

STEP #1: Print a blank treat bag template on a light gray-colored heavy weight paper, Click Here To Check Out Free Printable Gift Bag & Box Templates. On the page, scroll down to the bottom and click on bag #1, download or print template directly on the spot. Cut, fold, and tape together to construct the bags.

STEP #2: Decorate bag with a rabbit at the front, Click Here To Check Out FREE Printable Bunny Template, this is actually a craft template but the look of the bunny and the colored version is perfect for this DIY. For 1 rabbit, print 1 colored bunny on a white board paper and another one on a bond paper then print 1 black and white bunny on a gray board paper with shade a bit darker than the printed colored bunny. Scale the size at "80" in the printing settings before printing. For the chest fur pattern, Click Here To Print A Rabbit Coloring Page, scale the coloring page to "75". Print and cut the chest fur part from the rabbit image.

The colored bunny printed on a heavy weight paper is the main bunny to be glued onto the front of the bag. Cut the round mouth area of the colored bunny printed on a bond paper and cut the lower face area including the mouth (as seen in the image above) of the black and white bunny printed on a darker shade of gray board paper

STEP #3: Add Easter eggs to your rabbit, Click Here To Check Out Free Easter Egg Templates. Choose the small blank eggs, scale @ "55" in the printing settings before printing. Make your Easter eggs colorful by printing the blank Easter egg template on a pattern paper. Check out these FREE printable digital pattern papers by clicking on the links below.

STEP #4: Print digital pattern paper of choice, after printing digital papers insert back the printed pattern paper into the printer to print blank Easter egg templates on it. Cut all the colorful eggs.

STEP #5: Glue all rabbit pieces together. Glue the cut lower bunny face over the same area of main bunny then glue the cut round mouth area over the same area of the darker gray mouth area. You may color over the blue eyes with yellow or orange marker. Glue chest fur pattern from the back of bunny head then glue the head to bunny body then glue the bunny feet. Add colorful Easter eggs in the middle of the body like the bunnies are holding the Easter eggs.

STEP #6: Glue the complete rabbits in front of your treat bags using solid glue to complete your own "thumper" rabbit inspired Easter treat bags. Add some Easter treats inside and tape it close with a scotch tape.

THUMPER RABBIT EASTER BAG LABEL + LINK TO PRINTABLE!

I added a label at the back of my bags. I made this "thumper sticker label", Click Here To Check Out Printable "Thumper Rabbit Easter Labels". Print it on a sticker paper, cut stickers and write the name of the child below the "Happy Easter" word as seen in the picture below. Peel off back of sticker and stick at back of treat bags.
