Zombie Toss: Create A Plants VS Zombies Inspired Halloween Game + Links to FREE Printables!

This year, for some fun this Halloween season, I made this game that me and Lauren played inspired and involving characters from the popular tower defense game "Plants VS Zombies". I call this game "zombie toss", I use a small empty cardboard box to create a zombie head that will be used to toss onto the plant characters. I used small disposable cups as stand of the plant characters. The cups hold prizes inside them that anyone can get from knocking down any of the plant characters. STEPS IN DOING GREETING CARD CRAFT

Let child choose what card or message they want to use or give to a loved one or friend. Just choose the card with the message that will fit best as a greeting card. I joined Lauren in creating the activity, I choose my card for Lauren with the message "Eye Think You're Awesome" and Lauren chose her card for me and grandpa with the message "You're Cool" and the simple message "Happy Valentine's Day" for grandma.

NOTE: This craft is a collaboration between parent or caregiver and child and is suitable for kids about 6 and above, you may adapt the process to the skill or ability of the child. You may not finish the project all at once in a day if you can't but you can work on it day by day or in a series of days until you can finish the whole craft.

STEP #1: Let child trace the card of choice on a separate white heavy weight paper. This piece is where you will write the additional message for the person you will give the greeting card to.

STEP #2: Next, let child cut the traced pattern of the card. Set it aside for later use.

STEP #3: Afterwards, let child glue the chosen card(s) into a separate valentine colored construction paper of choice using dry glue stick.

STEP #4: Next, let child cut the paper on all sides of the card creating a border around it using a craft scissor.

STEP #5: Afterwards, let the child glue the first bordered card again onto a separate construction paper of choice with an opposite color.

STEP #6: Next, let child cut all around the first border using craft scissor creating a secondary border.

STEP #7: After creating the borders, it's time to create or prepare the pieces to decorate the card. We simply create and cut our hearts using scissors but for your convenience, you may use sequins, gem stickers, a hole puncher or shape punchers such as heart or flower for the pieces to add as extra embellishments to personalized your card.

STEP #8: Next, let child glue or stick any pieces of choice onto the card and decorate it the way they want.

STEP #9: Next, let child add additional details if needed using colored pens or coloring markers to spice up their front card(s) a bit more.

STEP #10: After decorating the front of their card, let child glue the pattern of white heavy weight paper traced from the card earlier at the back.

STEP #11: Next, let child write any additional short and simple heartfelt or loving message to the person they will give the card to on the blank paper glued at the back of the card.

STEP #12: Your card is DONE, you may store it in an envelope. Click Here To Check Out FREE Printable Envelope Template in a simple design you can easily cut and put together, print on a plain or pattern paper for added style.
