Zombie Toss: Create A Plants VS Zombies Inspired Halloween Game + Links to FREE Printables!

This year, for some fun this Halloween season, I made this game that me and Lauren played inspired and involving characters from the popular tower defense game "Plants VS Zombies". I call this game "zombie toss", I use a small empty cardboard box to create a zombie head that will be used to toss onto the plant characters. I used small disposable cups as stand of the plant characters. The cups hold prizes inside them that anyone can get from knocking down any of the plant characters. This is a collaborative activity between adult (parent or caregiver) and child. Decide what kind of monster you want to make: its appearance (single-eyed, 3-eyed, with horns, etc.), character (happy, grumpy, etc.), and colors or theme you wish. Allow kid(s) to decide and create their own kind of monster.

STEPS IN DOING THIS MONSTER CRAFT

STEP #1: Let child paint the disposable cup lid using any color of choice. Set aside to dry.

STEP #2: Next, let child create body of monster by gluing at least 4 regular colored craft sticks in any color of their choice, side by side together using liquid glue. Set aside to let glue dry and bond completely.

While waiting for the painted and glued craft stick body to dry, let child cut the patterns of the monster pieces (back lid cover, eyes, nose, teeth, ears, hand, feet, etc.)

STEP #3: Once painted lid is dry, let child glue pieces (eyes, nose, teeth, ears, back lid cover, or horn(s) on the lid. Let them draw additional details on the pieces if needed.

STEP #4: Next, take some yarns in any chosen color for the hair of monster. Cut small strands of the yarn, let child spread the right amount of liquid glue at the back of the lid then glue yarns on it. Afterwards let child add scotch tape on the glued yarns to secure it completely.

STEP #5: Next, let child decorate craft stick body with any accessories of choice such as large circles  or any shape using hole or shape puncher. They may draw some extra details of choice on the body using coloring markers.

STEP #6: Next, add hot glue at the lower back of the monster head then let child glue the head to the craft stick body.

STEP #7: Afterwards, add hot glue at the middle and lower part of the craft stick body and let child glue fuzzy wire or pipe cleaner of choice on it to create monster arms and legs. Cut extra or extended fuzzy wire then let child position monster arms and legs in any way they want.

STEP #8: Finally, add hot glue on the tip of monster arms and legs and let child glue paper hands and feet pieces on the spot. And that was it  your "DISPOSABLE CUP LID AND CRAFT STICK MONSTER" is DONE.
