Muffin Craft: Muffin Out Of Foam Ball | Home Learning Art & Craft Project Activity

In this post, I will be sharing a "muffin" craft. This was a craft project that Lauren did in Brightly Beaming Resources' (Step 3: Sound of the Week) home school curriculum for the "ff" sound as in "muffin". I thought about doing our muffin using foam balls with frosting made of powder paint, sprinkled with paper sprinkles on top using construction papers.

STEPS IN DOING THIS MUFFIN CRAFT

STEP #1: First, let child draw some designs on the muffin wrapper using pencil, then let child trace drawing with coloring marker then color the drawings with crayons.

STEP #2: Next, let child paint foam balls with any color of their choice, in shades similar to a muffin (such as yellow, orange, or brown). The foam balls we used here were cut from a spare large foam ball from a previous project we did but you can purchase 3 inch size foam balls for your version of this project. Set painted foam balls aside to dry for a couple of minutes.

STEP #3: Next, make the muffin frosting mixture. Create frosting in any color of choice. Take some powder paint and mixed it with a little water, make sure the mixture is more thick and less watery resembling texture of a real frosting.

You can also create your own powder paint using sidewalk colored chalksClick Here For The DIY Powdered Paint RecipeOnce the foam balls are dry, let child pour some of the frosting mixture on top of the foam balls then let child spread frosting apart using a plastic spoon.

STEP #4: Next, let child spread liquid glue on the muffin wrappers then attach wrapper around foam balls.

STEP #5: Finally, let child decorate muffins with paper sprinkles of their choice on top of each muffin frosting.
