Valentine's this year, I decided to do these fun valentine animal treat cups with bear, cat, and dog characters on them using disposable cups. I gave them to my daughter Lauren and my 2 nieces, the design is of different cute animal characters holding hearts with fun valentine messages related to the animals. I put small chocolates inside the cups, the kids were delighted to receive such simple but fun and special valentine gift this day of love.

Create your own animal treat cups to give as simple but fun valentine treats or gift to kids or anyone in your family or friends. I made mine mostly handmade as seen in the image above but here I'll be sharing how you can create yours fast and easy. ANIMAL CHARACTERS + LINKS TO FREE PRINTABLES!
I have made my valentine treat cups mostly by hand but to save time, I have put together these animal characters for you that you can print immediately and stick to your cups. I have added heart shaped bows for each animal characters so you can have an option of adding bows if you like, if for example you are giving one to a girl but you can skip the bows if it's for a boy.
You may leave the characters as they are or spice them up a bit if you want, to make them special for the one you will give it to. You may add any extra details by gluing tiny gem stickers or drawing hearts, any detail of choice on the characters using markers, gel ink pens, paint etc. Click on the links below to check out a specific FREE printable animal character, custom scale the animal characters at "90" in the printing settings to fit just right with an 8 oz. size disposable cup. Print on a heavy weight paper such as vellum or specialty board or any paper with a similar texture.

I have also put together a blank heart version of each of the animal characters, where you can have the option of writing any message of choice in the hearts by hand related to the animal and the person you will be giving it to. TREAT CUPS + LINKS TO FREE PRINTABLES!
For my handmade animal treat cups, I use 8 oz. plain Styrofoam disposable cups, I painted them using poster paints to give it some color but you may use plain colored or printed (patterned) disposable cups or paper cups as seen in the samples below. Create a cup cover by tracing the mouth of your disposable cup on a piece of construction or patterned paper, cut and glue round pattern on top of cup using dry glue stick.

They are perfect for use in valentine crafts or DIY, if the digital papers are in a ZIP file, extract any pattern paper of choice into your computer. Double click on the extracted image and in picture viewer, click on "printer" icon, in the printing preferences choose the following options: PAPER SIZE: depending on the size of paper you will use "Letter - 8.5 x 11" or "Legal - 8.5 x 14" ; FIT: "Fill Page", next click on "print".

STEPS IN MAKING YOUR OWN VALENTINE ANIMAL TREAT CUPS
STEP#1: Print valentine animal characters of choice by checking out the links above to the FREE printables.
STEP #2: You may add additional or extra details to your animals if you like to make them special for the one you will give it to, if not you can proceed to the next step.
STEP #3: Trace the mouth of your cup on a pattern or construction paper to create the cup covers. Cut and set aside the round patterns. If you are using printed paper cups (polka dot or striped, etc.), you may cover the cup using plain construction paper and if you are using plain colored paper cups you may cover your cup with patterned papers as seen in the sample images above.
STEP #4: Cut animal characters and glue to 8 oz. plain colored or printed disposable or paper cups using hot melt glue.
STEP#5: Fill cup with treats: candies, chocolates or tiny toys.
STEP#6: Spread dry glue around the mouth of cup and add the round patterns on top to cover the cups.

GET A LOW-COST QUALITY PRINTER FOR HOME PRINTING!
Print FREE printables for home DIYs and more! I'm using "HP Ink Tank 115" single function inkjet printer in printing the samples in this DIY, I bought it online at shopee.ph. It is a quality and low-cost printer for home printing that uses tank for the ink. It needs a total of 4 ink bottles (CMYK) to refill the tank, you can save even more by refilling with universal ink. Just make sure the ink is compatible with the printer model before deciding on a purchase.
