Zombie Toss: Create A Plants VS Zombies Inspired Halloween Game + Links to FREE Printables!

This year, for some fun this Halloween season, I made this game that me and Lauren played inspired and involving characters from the popular tower defense game "Plants VS Zombies". I call this game "zombie toss", I use a small empty cardboard box to create a zombie head that will be used to toss onto the plant characters. I used small disposable cups as stand of the plant characters. The cups hold prizes inside them that anyone can get from knocking down any of the plant characters. Have Fun This Halloween! Create A Simple But Colorful Halloween At Home + Links To FREE Resources!

Create your own Halloween at home and enjoy the spooky season in any way you can. What I like about Halloween is getting creative and dressing up as someone, I think it's fun to portray a certain character and get to be something or somebody else other than yourself. Here in the Philippines, celebration of Halloween like houses decorating and kids going trick or treating from house to house is not widely done or practiced but there are some people who do throw Halloween or costume parties, some showcase their spooky and fun costumes in the streets or places such as malls, restaurants, stores, etc. put up Halloween decorations or organize Halloween events, etc. for kids and everyone with a fee.

This year, we tried doing our own Halloween celebration at home, just having fun decorating spooky stuff, dressing up in whatever simple costume we can put together with clothes in our drawer and closet, etc. This DIY has no specific theme but I use common Halloween colors and elements such as: black cats, spiders, and jack o' lanterns. I just had some decors, a simple costume, Halloween table getting creative with spooky snacks and drinks and some Halloween treats. In this post, I'll be sharing some resources and links how you can prepare and create your own simple but fun and colorful Halloween at home.

EASY HALLOWEEN COSTUME IDEA + LINK TO FREE PRINTABLE MASK TEMPLATES & MORE!

Have fun dressing up for Halloween even without spending too much. Me and Lauren dress up as "vampire" and "devil". For my part, I just use a simple black blouse I could find in the closet and use this black necklace with a large oval pendant as accessory then had my nails painted with black nail polish and put on some fangs made from white plastic straws, you can purchase fangs online or do it yourself, Click Here To Check Out How To Make Vampire Teeth using many other different methods with household items that you may already have at home. I also created a simple mask for us, Click Here To Check Out Masquerade & Mardi Gras Mask Templates, I used Masquerade Mask #1 to create my simple vampire mask.

As for Lauren she wore a black short sleeved leotard that she used last time in a school activity, it would have been great to wear a red one but since she doesn't have that, she just wore a red denim short pants to make up for it instead. I made a devil mask for her, Click Here To Check Out Superhero Mask Templates, I used template #2 or the cat mask and just altered it into a devil mask by altering the ears to look like horns.

Create your own devil or vampire costume by putting together any clothing you already have or if you will have to buy or make anything, it's of something that you can dispose of easily afterwards or still use in other ways after Halloween.

CREATE A HALLOWEEN TABLE + LINKS TO FREE PRINTABLES

Create a special Halloween table to display some Halloween inspired foods or snacks and drinks for the kids or whole family. Since I don't have a table cloth with the color I can use for our Halloween table, I cover our table with black and purple Cartolina paper instead then put plastic cover on top to protect the paper underneath. I cut orange, black, and purple crepe papers into large triangle buntings to hang around the sides of the table just to cover those areas of the table that are not fully covered and to spice things up as well. I added extra white tiny dots on the black bunting and a triangle eyes, nose and oval mouth on the orange bunting to make it look like a jack o' lantern.

Check out the links below for a variety of FREE printable Halloween inspired buntings you can immediately hung all around and on your table as well for extra embellishments and to spice things up and into the Halloween spirit! The links are arranged in order of how the banner samples appear in the collage image below (from top then middle  left to right ; bottom left to right).

EASY HALLOWEEN DRINKS + LINKS TO FREE PRINTABLES

I made our drink using strawberry flavored powdered juice, I was supposed to add something like "blood" dripping down the sides of the glasses using red food color. I can't find any liquid food coloring so I bought the powder form instead that was labeled "strawberry red" but when I mixed it with water, it wasn't red as I'd expect it to be but it was color black, anyway I think it still did its job because it kind of looks like spooky "black goo" flowing down the sides of our drinking glasses as seen in the picture above so that's okay.

Try creating your own spooky Halloween drinks to go with the celebration. Here are 4 Halloween drinks I found that you can easily create with red juice, orange juice, milk, or canned lychees just add creepy things like spiders, eyeball toys etc. to make them extra creepy or into the Halloween spirit.
