DIY Little Pony Cartoon Paper Tarpaulin-Like Birthday Banner

It's my niece's 5th birthday, my sister liked the idea of the handmade paper tarpaulin banner I made for Lauren's 8th birthday last month and she requested I made the same type of banner for her daughter's 5th birthday as well with the "Little Pony" theme.  Here is my version of a "Little Pony" handmade paper tarpaulin birthday banner.

ABOUT THIS HANDMADE PAPER TARPAULIN

This is just like a small tarpaulin banner like the ones you can buy in the stores but the difference is that it is made of paper and it is handmade and a personal one. You need to prepare and do this like 2 or a week ahead of the actual birthday. So you have more time to prepare and can make it one piece at a time.

GETTING CREATIVE WITH YOUR LITTLE PONY PAPER TARPAULIN BANNER

I use this purple, dark and light pink cartolina paper to create this little pony themed paper birthday banner. You can cut the cartolina in a size just enough for a birthday banner that people can clearly see or read the design and texts that will be put into it. I used both cartolina and construction papers and sticker paper to create the designs.

LITTLE PONY CHARACTERS & BIRTHDAY ELEMENT CLIPARTS FOR YOUR BANNER

Or you can also measure the size of a ready made or store bought birthday tarpaulin banner if you have any previous one that you kept or stored in cutting your cartolina paper. You can come up with your own kind of design for your "little pony" paper tarpaulin banner that you have in mind. Combine "My Little Pony" characters and some birthday elements such as party hats, birthday cake, balloons, buntings, etc. print them on a matte sticker paper, cut and stick them together with letterings for your banner. EASY CUT LETTERS & NUMBERS FOR YOUR BANNER

For the lettering and numbers, I used letter and numbers template, Click Here To Check Out FREE Printable Easy Cut Letters and Numbers Template. Print letters and numbers template to trace on any paper of choice or print them directly on the paper you will use to cut immediately. I used dark pink for the letters on my banner, I highlighted the name and age and used a different color (purple) than the rest of the letters and numbers for it.

PUTTING YOUR DIY PAPER TARPAULIN BANNER TOGETHER

I use solid glue stick in sticking the papers, this way the glue is dry and will not create a messy or wet effect on the paper. I spread the glue evenly and properly to make sure the paper will truly and neatly stick together. Before finally gluing everything (letters, numbers, and characters), I first arrange them on the scallop pattern and see how they will look like altogether and then glue and stick them one by one in place.

HOW TO DISPLAY YOUR DIY PAPER TARPAULIN

You can display this banner in any way by hanging it up, pinning, or taping it depending on where you will post it. Try creating your own version of a little pony or any theme of your choice paper birthday tarpaulin banner tailored to the theme of your kid's birthday. For that personal and unique birthday banner that is not seen or is the same as anyone else.
