Fun Colorful Paper Clock | Home Learning Art & Craft Project Activity
In this post, I will be sharing a "clock" craft. This was a craft project that Lauren did in Brightly Beaming Resources' (Step 3: Sound of the Week) homeschool curriculum for the "ck" sound as in "clock", Click Here To Find Out Why We Are Doing Homeschooling. I thought about making a fun looking clock made out of paper.
* cut clock patterns
* cut number patterns
* cut clock hands pattern
* cut mouth pattern
DONE BY ADULT OR PARENT:
* Clock: Depending on what shape of clock your child will make (example: square, oval, etc.), draw or trace a big and smaller pattern of the shape on a construction or specialty board in any color of choice, you may allow the child to choose the colors they like. You can use any shape of large object you can find around you that can be traced on a construction board and you can draw the same shape for the smaller pattern to be glued onto your large clock pattern. Draw small dots all around the small clock pattern using a pencil as a guide to glue the numbers as well as a small dot in the middle as a guide where to attach clock hands.
* Clock Numbers: Click Here To Print Number Circle 1 to 12 or Click Here To Print Number Squares 1 to 12 print it on any color of paper you like or you can choose any blank shape of choice such as hearts, stars, diamonds, etc. and just write the numbers inside the shapes using a marker to create the clock numbers. Make sure the size of the shapes are enough to fit your clock pattern.
Check out the links below for some FREE printable templates in variety of shapes to choose from, if the desired shape is large, scale the size in the printing settings that will fit best with your clock pattern.

* Clock Mouth: Draw a small mouth pattern on a construction paper in any color of choice.
DONE BY CHILD:
* cut clock patterns
* cut clock hand patterns
* cut clock mouth pattern
* glue and put together clock
* draw details on clock
STEPS IN DOING THIS CLOCK CRAFT:
STEP #1: Let child glue smaller clock pattern on the bigger clock pattern using solid glue stick.
STEP #2: Next, let child glue the number shapes all around the clock following the drawn small dots as guide.
STEP #3: Next, add the clock hands in the middle, make a hole on the drawn dot guide using a pencil or sharp object (with adult supervision), put the clock hand patterns on top of the hole and let child push the colored brad fastener in chosen color through the clock hands into the hole, split the pin at the back to secure it in place.
STEP #4: Next, let child glue googly eyes on the clock using white glue, you may get more fun with the eyes and use colored and fun looking googly eyes.
STEP #5: Next, let child glue mouth on the clock to complete clock face and draw additional details (such as eye lashes if needed or eyebrows if you like) using a coloring marker.
And your "paper clock" is DONE, you can also use this clock to teach child about reading basic time. Below is Lauren's finished paper clock, get the kids creating their own fun and colorful paper clock today!
