Zombie Toss: Create A Plants VS Zombies Inspired Halloween Game + Links to FREE Printables!

This year, for some fun this Halloween season, I made this game that me and Lauren played inspired and involving characters from the popular tower defense game "Plants VS Zombies". I call this game "zombie toss", I use a small empty cardboard box to create a zombie head that will be used to toss onto the plant characters. I used small disposable cups as stand of the plant characters. The cups hold prizes inside them that anyone can get from knocking down any of the plant characters. Get creative this Christmas by creating your own colorful elf treat or gift bags. Make Christmas fun by storing little Christmas treats or gifts to give out to kids within your family in a cute elf theme bag. I made mine mostly hand made, but in this post I'll be sharing ideas on how you can make yours quick and easy.

CREATING THE BAGS + LINKS TO PRINTABLE TEMPLATE

I used cartolina papers and trace the pattern of a small store bought gift bag on it. I constructed my bags together by securing the sides and bottom with a scotch tape. To skip this process, you may either purchase some medium or large sized plain or patterned gift or paper bags, the patterns doesn't need to be in Christmas prints even ones in polka dots, zig zags, or stripes will do as long as they are in Christmas colors or you could also use a printable gift bag template.

Check Out This FREE Printable Favor Bag Template Here that is perfect for use in this DIY. This makes a larger bag compare to most printable bag patterns that has the whole bag pattern in one page, you will need to print 2 copies of this blank bag template to connect together and form a bigger bag. You may either print this on a plain heavy weight paper or on a pattern paper in Christmas colors. Check out the sample bags I made below using this template.

I am using a printable Christmas polka dot pattern paper for the boy elf in the sample. Check out the links below to some FREE Printable Christmas Digital Papers that are perfect for use in this DIY. Simply print them on a white heavy weight paper, they are also great for use as wrapping papers for small Christmas gifts and for all kinds of Christmas DIY projects!

ELF PIECES + LINKS TO FREE PRINTABLES

For my elf pieces, I made mine by hand using round objects (such as jar lids, coins, etc.) to create patterns for the head, eyes, and other round parts of the elves and its clothing. The hats are made by drawing a triangular pattern using a ruler. You don't need to go through this process one by one as I have put together 3 elves in various looks both boy and girl in plain and patterned hats, check out the links below to check out the printable.

Choose from any of the 3 looks of boy and girl elves I put together, both elves come in plain and patterned hats. Below is a printed sample of these assorted elves you can use to create your own Christmas elf gift or treat bag fast and easy. Just print it on a heavy weight paper so they will be sturdy.

Using the suggested printable favor bag template above, simply follow the following settings: paper size "A4" then scale the elves at "89" and as for the elf belt, scale it at "94" or choose the "fit to printable area" option before printing.

WAYS TO USE THESE LABELS

You can use it as a label for this DIY elf bag or as tag in any Christmas gift bag.

1. For this DIY elf bag, print it on a sticker paper, cut and just stick directly at the back of the bags or if you don't have sticker paper, simply print it on a bond paper and stick to the bag using solid glue stick.

2. You may also print it on a heavy weight paper, use it as it is or add straight or decorative borders all around by gluing to a construction paper then cut with regular scissor or craft scissors. Add a tape at the back and stick on a gift or treat bag.

3. Another way is to punch a hole at the top of the label and hang it with a string tied around the handles of a gift bag. You can leave it as it is or write something before and after the greeting (example: TO: Lauren "MERRY CHRISTMAS" FROM: Mom).

Try creating your own elf theme bags and make Christmas extra fun with some Christmas treats or gift contained in a cute Christmas elf bag.
