It's my niece's 7th birthday and my sister asked me to make some party hats in a "Unicorn" theme for her birthday celebration. I made these cone hats using birthday hat templates in blue, pink, orange, purple, yellow, and green with patterns of tiny white dots. I added a rainbow unicorn picture inside a round circle, then glued the circle onto a round scallop pattern to create a decorative border around the circles. I finish the hats by decorating the top with some DIY crepe paper pom poms and fringes at the bottom.

DECORATING YOUR HATS + LINKS TO FREE PRINTABLES!
Add a character design to your hat to go with the theme of your party. You may decorate it as you wish. I used these unicorn images (as seen in the sample below) and glued them to a round scallop pattern, I made my circle a lighter shade than the hat they will be glued into. I have put together some unicorn images that you can print immediately to decorate your hats.
Unicorn Images Personal Used Only Print it on a construction paper or colored sticker paper then cut and glue or stick to your party hats. For Personal Used Only Above is a sample of the printable unicorn sticker, leave it as it is or spice it up by adding colorful borders using construction papers, cut along the edge creating a decorative border (scallop, wave, or zig zag) using craft scissors. I printed the sample in its "actual size" but you may scale it in the printing settings (at about 95%) if you want a smaller unicorn label on your party hat.
EMBELLISHING YOUR HATS
Add some embellishments at the top and bottom of your hats, I cut fringes of crepe paper and tape them at the bottom of my hats from the inside and had crepe paper pom poms as toppers in 2 color combinations (dark and light), I used similar colors to the hat they will be decorated into.
Original Version of DIY Unicorn Party Hats
Updated Version of DIY Unicorn Party Hats
Above is a sample finished unicorn party hats using the printable papers, templates, and unicorn stickers as shared above. If you don't have time to create some DIY pom pom toppers for your hats, you can also just purchase assorted large pom pom balls to glue immediately at the top of your hats. You may also opt to just leave the bottom plain and without any additional embellishments.
ADDING STRINGS TO YOUR HATS
I used paper twines as ties for my hats since I didn't have any elastic strings but it's better to use elastic string or elastic thread to keep the hats properly in place and prevent them from easily falling off as you wear them.
