Zombie Toss: Create A Plants VS Zombies Inspired Halloween Game + Links to FREE Printables!

This year, for some fun this Halloween season, I made this game that me and Lauren played inspired and involving characters from the popular tower defense game "Plants VS Zombies". I call this game "zombie toss", I use a small empty cardboard box to create a zombie head that will be used to toss onto the plant characters. I used small disposable cups as stand of the plant characters. The cups hold prizes inside them that anyone can get from knocking down any of the plant characters. Carton Tube Fox

2-11-2016 -- This was an art project that Lauren did in Brightly Beaming Resources' (Step 2: Letter of the Week) homeschool curriculum for the "x" sound as in "foX". I did a search for some fox crafts for kids and saw this "Fox Toilet Paper Roll" craft from dltk-kids.com. There are many other versions of doing a toilet paper roll fox out there but I chose this one because of how convenient and easy it is for kids to make. We made used of this 1-piece empty paper towel roll tube I found in the cabinet.

DLTK have 2 kinds of fox template: colored (that kids can cut  and glue immediately on tube) and black & white (that kids can color then cut themselves to glue on tube). I chose the black & white template so Lauren can personally color them herself. Lauren made 2 kinds of foxes in brown and orange color.

Lauren used oil pastel colors in coloring the templates.

The template has a rectangular pattern that is used to cover a toilet paper roll. Since paper towel rolls are longer than toilet paper rolls, I just cut the extended part of the tube to where the rectangular piece of the template ends when it is glued on the tube.

Lauren also added some whiskers to the side of the fox's mouth, though they are not that visible due to the thickness of the oil pastel colors that make it hard to write with a coloring marker or pen on it. With this, you could use small thin pieces of black construction papers or maybe small strands of black or brown yarns to glue on the side of the foxes' mouths if you wish to add some whiskers

This is really a simple fox craft for kids to make, if you're looking for a fox craft to do with your kids, you should try this one from DLTK.

I put the foxes onto a grass outside and they look like foxes on a field that was able to catch a mouse, hehehe!! The colors were smudged, it is better to use crayons or coloring pencils instead if you are coloring this black & white template. Anyway, Lauren's foxes still look cute though. Kid's can use it for pretend play afterwards.
