Paper Visors

1-28-2016 -- This was an art project that Lauren did in Brightly Beaming Resources' (Step 2: Letter of the Week) home school curriculum for the "v" sound as in "visor". I bought a plain plastic visor in a novelty store that Lauren was supposed to decorate for this project, we haven't done anything like this so I looked for ideas on how to decorate the visor and saw these "paper visor crafts", I thought maybe Lauren could make these paper visors instead. I searched for paper visor templates and saw a couple of templates in different styles and patterns but I chose this template of "Paper Visor Craft" from firstpalette.com.

Lauren made 4 kinds of paper visors: (as you can see the photo of the finished visors she has done above), she made a cat, monster, circles and  philippine flag paper visors. I took templates for some parts of the visor pieces such as (cat ears, monster horns and nose, and the Philippine flag's sun and stars). Lauren cut all the these patterns herself.

I trace coins on paper visor template to create circles and Lauren color the circles with any color of her choice.

Lauren gets to create a variety of fun and colorful looking paper visors that she can wear and feel proud of that she had made herself.

This visor template is easy to decorate and anyone can wear it even adults. You can measure the length of the straps to fit well with a child or adult.

After decorating the paper visors, Lauren added and glued in the straps of the visors. She also taped the straps after gluing them to totally hold them in place. Lauren and her cousin Reslie tried the "paper visors" on and they look really cute and fun to wear, it looks adorable on their heads.

This is definitely a fun activity for kids to make. Let kids choose and create their own designs or characters on the visors. If you're looking for a visor craft to do with the kids, try this "Paper Visor Crafttoday.
