Zombie Toss: Create A Plants VS Zombies Inspired Halloween Game + Links to FREE Printables!

This year, for some fun this Halloween season, I made this game that me and Lauren played inspired and involving characters from the popular tower defense game "Plants VS Zombies". I call this game "zombie toss", I use a small empty cardboard box to create a zombie head that will be used to toss onto the plant characters. I used small disposable cups as stand of the plant characters. The cups hold prizes inside them that anyone can get from knocking down any of the plant characters. Unicorn Craft: Magical Paper Unicorns Poster + Link To FREE Printables! | Home Learning Art & Craft Project Activity

In this post, I will be sharing a "unicorn" craft. I thought about doing a unicorn poster using a horse template and I call this craft "Magical Paper Unicorns Poster". This was an art project that Lauren did in Brightly Beaming Resources' (Step 2: Letter of the Week) homeschool curriculum for the long "u" sound as in "unicorn".

If you love unicorns and looking for a unicorn theme activity as part of learning at home or simply just for fun and creativity with your kids, keep reading and check out the details below to get started.

READY FOR KID BEFORE STARTING ACTIVITY ALONG WITH OTHER MATERIALS

* cartolina paper (cut in half)

* cut star patterns

DONE BY ADULT OR PARENT

NOTE: This craft is a collaboration between parent or caregiver and child and is suitable for kids about 6 and above, you may adapt the process to the skill or ability of the child. You may not finish the project all at once in a day if you can't but you can work on it day by day or in a series of days until you can finish the whole project.

PAPER BACKGROUND: Fold 1 whole cartolina in half then cut along the fold. Draw patterns on the cartolina for background of unicorns. You may create any background (such as horizontal, vertical, etc.) aside from what is shown. You could also allow your child to pick what pattern they like for the background. Trace pencil detail with black pentel pen marker.

* UNICORN BODY: Print horse templates on a construction paper of choice. We used this "horse template" from activityvillage.co.uk. They have 2 kinds of horse templates, you can choose whichever horse template you like. We used their "Horse Template #3"

UNICORN HORNS: Create a narrow triangle pattern on construction papers with the same colors as unicorn bodies using a ruler.

STAR ACCESSORIES: Take a small star template or a star object and trace pattern on construction papers of choice, you may also use a variety of star sizes. Click Here For FREE Printable Star Templates in various sizes to spice up your unicorn poster.

STEP #3: Next, let child add details on horns by drawing slant lines on it. After drawing, let child trace pencil details using coloring markers and color inside lines using any crayon of their choice then cut patterns.

STEP #4: Next, let child glue horns on forehead and googly eyes on horse, you may try other colors and designs of googly eyes if you like. After creating the unicorn, let child glue them on background paper using dry glue stick.

STEP #5: Next, cut strands of yarns with any color of choice. Spread liquid glue on unicorn tail and mane then let child glue yarn strands one by one on it to create unicorn's flowing manes and tails. Next let child add details on unicorn body and face using shape sequins and gem stickers of their choice.

STEP #6: Finally, let child glue the paper stars around unicorns to make their unicorn poster even more fun and magical.

And there goes your "MAGICAL PAPER UNICORNS POSTER". I covered Lauren's finished project with plastic cover and posted it on the wall in our room.
